MailSouth
and Cap Media Join Forces
Albert Braunfisch, President of CAP Media,
Inc., and Tom Settle, President of MailSouth,
Inc., recently announced that MailSouth
has acquired CAP Media and will continue
to operate and develop all of its shared
mail market areas. Mr. Settle will remain
in his role as President and will focus
his attention on the day-to-day operation
of the combined company. Mr. Braunfisch
will join the organization as Chief Executive
Officer and will be responsible for future
strategic development including: acquisitions,
partnerships and other external relationships.
Both gentlemen will sit on MailSouth’s
Board of Directors.
The markets will transition to MailSouth
beginning with the August 2005 mail dates.
These additional market areas in Arkansas,
Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky,
Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma,
Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming increase
MailSouth’s reach to just over 17
million households in 25 states. The CAP
Media offices in Little Rock, Arkansas,
will remain open and will serve as a western
support hub for MailSouth’s continuing
operations; the existing sales force and
support personnel will continue to provide
uninterrupted service to CAP Media’s
client base. Since the vast majority of
CAP’s 5 million households were already
produced in MailSouth’s four production
facilities, no near-term changes are expected
with respect to mail production.
Mr. Settle commented on MailSouth’s
rapid growth by saying, “Adding CAP
Media to MailSouth’s family this soon
after our acquisition of Focus On Results
demonstrates the dedication of our people
and the organization’s ability to
execute an aggressive growth plan. I’m
really excited about the accomplishment
and the new opportunities it represents.
Even more, getting Albert to join the team
and help me shoulder the leadership of the
company is truly a coup. We’ve known
each other for several years, and I think
our talents and passions are amazingly complementary
to each other.”
Mr. Braunfisch added, “Our shareholders
were really not shopping for acquirers,
but the synergy and combined strength that
we knew we could achieve with MailSouth
just made it an opportunity that was too
attractive to miss. I’m genuinely
energized by the landscape I see in front
of us.”
CAP Media and MailSouth both specialize
in shared mail advertising services in which
advertising circulars and flyers of multiple
retailers and service businesses are collated
into a single package and then direct mailed
to every household in a given market area
with targeting selectivity by postal zip
code, neighborhood or specific demographic
variable.
